Community Service

Freedom Fellowship reaches out to make a difference in the community in many ways. When many people stayed inside and head during the COVID-19 lockdown we got permission to go outside and serve; those especially those suffering from hunger.

Matthew 10:8
Make sick people well again. Cause dead people to become alive again. If people have a bad illness of the skin, make them well again. Send bad spirits out of people to leave them. God has been very kind to you, so you should be kind to other people. When you help people, do not ask them for money.

Our praise and worship band went out into the community to shed some light and hope and bring encouragement to those who have been locked at home and unable to really enjoy life over the past year. The band and friends of the band played music, sang, danced gave out encouraging literature facemasks food and the love of Jesus in tangible ways.

On many occasions after making food packages and stitching facemasks by hand teams went out to the local community to train on how to stay safe and prevent COVID. Many people were stranded with only four hours of notice that they were going to be lockdowns in India. Even as weather became cold they had not yet been able to travel back to the homeplace. Our teams purchased with their own money and some money they collected blankets and other items to help warm people without proper shelter. Every distribution is done in love; expecting nothing in return.

One of our favorite activities is going out and helping the least of these. Most people are cruel to street children. They can’t help it that their parents teach them to go out and bag. They don’t get opportunities like many children to go to school and learn and have hope for the future. So, we go there and teach them some basic skills and show them Jesus love. They learn and grow and receive Jesus love in many ways. Although these children have to earn a certain amount of money before their parents will allow them to come once a week and meet with us. They remember the day and are waiting for us whenever we arrive. Jesus teaches in the Bible that it is more blessed to give than to receive and this ministry where we get nothing back from these children except the blessing of them. It is always the highlight of our week. ❤
Matthew 25:40
“Then the king will answer, ‘The truth is, anything you did for any of my people here, you also did for me.’

Acts 20:35

In this way I have shown you how you should live. You should work well so that you may help sick or weak people. You should remember what Jesus himself said: “It may make you happy when you receive things. But it makes you more happy when you give things to someone.’”
